Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Design is to develop necessary human resource for the growing fashion industry by continuous improvement to curriculum and skills, hiring experts (locally and abroad) for delivery and making a showcase for fashion.

Brief introduction

Fashion and Apparel industry has become a key dimension in Pakistanís economy due to its export potential worldwide. Being a part of the largest industrial sector, it needs a creative workforce with prominent level of skills for its future expansion specially to cater European market.

The objective of Department of Design is to develop students as authentic designers of haute couture creating own brands or uplifting European Brands in Fashion and equip them with all skills necessary to manage the global fashion industry.

The Department of fashion design is equipped with state of the art labs related to designing, manufacturing and testing many kinds apparel products. Currently, department is offering a four year degree in Fashion Design, collaborated with Tianjin polytechnic University of China to fill the employment gap in this sector.

This unique curriculum makes them excellent entrepreneurs and man power for design houses or fashion outlets.

Labs

The Department of Design is equipped with a clothing CAD lab with modern software and a plotter, cloth production lab with various industrial sewing machines, industrial irons and iron tables, clothing cutting lab with mannequins, cutting table, cutting machines and a drawing lab.

Program Structure

The department offers B. Des. 4 year honours degree in Fashion Design consist of 139 credit hours in 8 semesters with Course work.

Entry Requirements

  • Pass in Intermediate/Advanced level or Diploma in technology (DAE).
  • Pass aptitude test conducted by department of Fashion.
  • Satisfy the panel of interviewers

Career Prospects

The graduates of the Department of Design will be able to contribute economy as Fashion designers, Fashion photographers, Fashion journalists, Merchandisers, Fashion Outlet managers and Fashion Entrepreneurs.
