Procedure to Apply Online

Applications will be received on-line along with the scanned copies of relevant documents.
However, the officials will be available at University to provide guidance to candidates, if they so require.
1. CORRECTNESS OF INFORMATION ON THE APPLICATION FORM
It is your responsibility to enter correct information while filling the on-line application. In
case of deliberate concealment of information or misinformation, admission, if offered, will be
liable to be cancelled and the candidate will be placed in the HEC blacklist through public
notification and will become ineligible to apply in any HEC institution.
2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

Deposit the 950 rupees for application processing fee in PTUT account BOP Account # 6580064981000010
a) Online Application filling and submission facility would be available at PTUT website
https://ptut.edu.pk/admissions/
b) You will be asked to enter the following information:

  • Personal Information
  • Contact Information
  • Academic Details

In case you are applying based on “O” level or equivalent foreign examination, you will be
required to:

  • Enter your candidate number in the “O” level examination;
  • Enter the IBCC equivalence certificate number and date issued (if available);
  • Enter your obtained and total marks as indicated on the IBCC equivalent certificate.
  • If you do not have an IBCC equivalence certificate, you may visit the IBCC website and
    enter the marks according to IBCC formulas. Kindly note that original IBCC equivalence
    certificate will be required from admitted candidates.

f) Next you will choose your preferences for programs/ disciplines.
g) Utmost care must be exercised while giving preferences. The following aspects must be kept
in mind while filling the preferences:

  • Preferences of disciplines, once chosen and submitted cannot be changed. Ineligible
    category will result in cancellation of the application.
  • No request for freezing by a candidate, admitted in the lower preference discipline, would
    be entertained. The candidate will continue to be considered for movement into his/her
    higher preference in subsequent merit lists.
  • Candidates must note that after the display of merit list, no application would be
    entertained for moving to a lower merit preference. Applications for moving into lower
    merit preference would only be accepted on-line from admitted candidates only, after the
    fourth and
  • Last merit list as per announced schedule.

f) Once your application is complete, you will be asked to submit the application.
g) After successful verification, your application is final and submitted in university’s records.
h) You may print a copy for your own record and also Dispatch a copy of submitted application
along attested documents and original fee receipt to admission office PTUT, Lahore.

FEE REGULATIONS

1.1       Periods of fees and Other Charges

  1. The fees and other charges are categorized as:
  • One-time payments at the time of admission.
  • Annual recurring fees;
  • Monthly recurring fees.
  1. During each year of a student’s stay at the University, all recurring fees (annual or monthly) are calculated based on twelve months period and are charged in two installments payable at beginning of fall and Spring semesters.
  2. A prescribed fee per credit hour will be charged from students registering during summer semester.
  3. A minimum of 48 months or 60 months recurring fees are admissible to students graduating respectively from a four years degree program or a five years degree program
  4. Students registering in semesters beyond the minimum prescribed study period shall pay a prescribed admission retention fee at the beginning of Fall and Spring Semesters until submission of their degree requirements completion form (Form 2).

1.2       Payment of Dues

  1. Students shall pay prescribed six months fees irrespective of the number of credit hours registered during a semester.
  2. No relaxation in prescribed fees would be given to students deciding not to register in a semester due to any reason.
  3. Registration in subjects would be cancelled if fees are not deposited by the prescribed deadline. Students having justifiable reasons for seeking relaxation in fee payment schedule must apply to the Vice Chancellor through the Chairman and Dean for this purpose.

1.3       Fee Schedule For Deferred Semester

No tuition fee or any other charges will be charged from students who have deferred their studies. However, an admission retention charge of Rs 5000/= per semester is applicable during this period.

1.4       Refund of Securities

The University security and library security are refunded when a student leaves the University after completion of his degree after deduction of outstanding dues of the University or the library.

1.5       Refunds on Admission Cancellation

The University and library securities are refunded when a student cancels his admission before completion of his degree.

In addition, tuition fee would be refunded as per the following schedule:

  1. Full (100%) fee refund if admission canceled up to 7th day of convening of classes or registration in the department (whichever is later).
  2. Half (50%) fee refund if admission canceled from 7th to 15th day of convening of classes or registration in the department (whichever is later).
  3. No fee refund if admission canceled from 16th day onward from the day of convening of classes or registration in the department (whichever is later).

UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS Fall 2020

Applications are invited from the prospective candidates for admission in undergraduate programs at PTUT, Lahore. Receipt of applications shall start from 14th September 2020.

  • ADMISSION CATEGORIES

For the purpose of admissions, applicants are categorized based on their qualification.

  1. Category 1: Candidates with DAE qualification.
  2. Category 2: Candidates with Intermediate qualification.
  • SEAT DISTRIBUTION IN EACH CATEGORY

Seats in each discipline offered by the university will be distributed as under:

  1. Category 1: 80% seats
  2. Category 2: 20% seats
  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT
  1. Category 1 applicants for Engineering Technology  should have at least 50% marks in the relevant discipline of DAE as determined by the university.
  2. Category 2 applicants for Engineering Technology  disciplines should have at least 50% marks in Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) or foreign equivalent qualification as determined by IBCC.
  3. Category 1 applicants for Bachelor in Fashion Design Technology should have at least 50% marks in any discipline of DAE.
  4. Category 2 applicants for Bachelor in Fashion Design Technology should have at least 50% marks in Intermediate (any Group) or equivalent as determined by IBCC.

Note: Candidates with Intermediate Arts or equivalent qualification who were not eligible to register for the Entry Test 2020 but intends to apply in Bachelor in Fashion Design Technology program may also fill the application. Fashion Design Entry test will be conducted after the forms submission

  • HAFIZ-E-QURA’AN TEST
  1. Candidates who claim of being Hafiz-e-Qur’an will be examined by a committee constituted for this purpose.
  2. The committee, after assessment, will give a score from 0 to 100 based on the level of proficiency in Hifz demonstrated by the candidate during examination.
  3. Decision of the committee will be final.
  • ADMISSION/ ENTRY TEST
  1. An admission test for Fashion Design Technology will be conducted after receipt of applications from candidates.
  2. The university may prescribe a standard test conducted by an external agency in lieu of the Admission Test.
  3. Merit aggregate would be computed as per stated formula and merit lists will be finalized.
  • MERIT AGGREGATE CALCULATION AND SCREENING OF APPLICANTS
  1. Aggregate marks would be calculated as under:

      [{%age marks in DAE / Intermediate} x 0.7] + [{%age marks in Admission Test} x 0.3]

  1. Applicants who earn less than 50% aggregate marks will not be considered for inclusion in the merit lists.
  2. Aggregate of eligible Hafiz-e- Qur’an applicants will adjusted after inclusion of their earned Hifz test score as under:

      Adjusted Aggregate = Aggregate marks + (%age marks earned in Hifz test x 0.0127)

  • ADMISSION CRITERION
  1. Separate merit lists will be prepared for Category 1 and Category 2 applicants.
  2. In each category admission will be purely only on merit.
  3. PTUT has been established primarily for Punjab domiciled candidates. However, maximum of 5% seats may be given to candidates from other provinces subject to their fulfilling the same admission requirements as their counterparts domiciled in Punjab.
  • AGE LIMIT

There is no age restriction for seeking admission to any degree program at the University.

  • MEDICAL FITNESS REQUIREMENT FOR ADMITTED CANDIDATES
  1. Due to peculiar requirements of the Engineering Technology , the following standard of physical fitness is required from admitted candidates to qualify for admission.
    1. The candidate does not suffer from any communicable decease.
    2. Does not bear traces of any previous acute or chronic disease pointing to an impaired constitution or permanent disability.
  • Does not suffer from any inveterate skin disease.
  1. Does not have any congenital malformation or defect.
  2. Limbs are well-formed and developed.
  3. There is free and perfect motion of all joints.
  • Chest is well formed and normal.
  • Distant vision 6/9 in one eye and 6/12 in the other WITH or WITHOUT glasses. He/ she must have normal field and color of vision, muscular balance, right vision and binocular vision.
  1. Hearing is good WITH or WITHOUT a hearing aid and there is no sign of ear disease.
  2. Teeth are in good order. Well-filled teeth will be considered as Sound.
  3. Lungs and heart are sound.
  • He does not suffer from a severe degree of varicose veins. A candidate who had been successfully operated upon is accepted.
  1. However, the physical standards for Bachelor in Fashion Design are relaxed and are stated as under:
    1. The candidate does not suffer from any communicable decease.
    2. Does not bear traces of any previous acute or chronic disease pointing to an impaired constitution.
  • Does not suffer from any inveterate skin disease.

PROCEDURE FOR THE SELECTED CANDIDATES

  1. NOTIFICATION OF SELECTION

A list of selected candidates will be put on the PTUT notice boards and on the PTUT website http://PTUT.edu.pk as well. Kindly note that no written offer letter would be dispatched to selected candidates. It is responsibility of the candidate to remain abreast with the status of admission as available on the web site and on the notice boards.

IMPORTANT: Consideration in the Next Merit lists:

Admissions are granted on merit and according to preferences given by the applicants. An applicant who secures admission in a discipline of his lower preference and he desires to be considered in next merit lists, MUST submit all the dues and documents. If he fails to do so, his name would be excluded from any future merit lists and his admission would be canceled.

  1. DEPOSITING OF DUES AND DOCUMENTS

Within the prescribed time, a selected candidate is required to pay the university dues and submit the following to the Admin Office, PTUT Lahore:

  1. Paid Original Bank Challan as proof of payment of dues. Candidate must keep photocopies challah for his/her own record and for submission to the department.
  2. Original Domicile Certificate.
  3. Original applicable certificates and degree, like Matric/”O”-Level, Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE), F. Sc. / “A”- Level or equivalent qualifications.
  4. 4 sets of photocopies of all documents.
  5. 4 copies of the most recent passport size photograph
  6. Two attested copies of CNIC/ “B” Form.
  7. Bio-date card Form-A duly completed in all respects.
  8. Medical Certificate Form-B duly signed and stamped by Medical Practitioner registered with PMDC.
  9. Duly attested Current Income certificate of the parent/ guardian.
  10. Undertaking (Sample Form-C) on a Rs. 100/- judicial paper duly completed.
  1. RELAXATION IN TIME LIMIT

IF a selected candidates is prevented by the unavoidable circumstances from timely fulfillment of the laid down in the above clause, then he should intimate the Admission Committee PTUT Lahore about it within the prescribed time limit along with relevant documentary proof. The Admission Committee may, at his discretion, grant relaxation in the time limit.

  1. FORFEITURE OF RIGHT OF ADMISSION

A selected candidate who fails to fulfill the requirements laid down in the above clause within the prescribed time limit shall forfeit his right of admission.

  1. PROVISIONAL ADMISSION

On fulfillment of the obligations mentioned in the above clause a selected candidate will be admitted to the University. This admission shall however, be provisional until all the original degrees or certificates submitted by him have been checked for their veracity. In case any document proves to be false, fake, or fabricated at a later stage, a provisionally admitted student shall be liable to expulsion from the university and to any other disciplinary or legal action the university may deem fit. Moreover, all the fees and charges deposited by him stand forfeited in favor of the University.

  1. WARNING

IF AT ANY STAGE, A STUDENT IS FOUND INDULGING IN POLITICS, HIS ADMISSION WILL BE CANCELLED AS REFERRED TO IN UNDERTAKING FROMXI.

  1. DEADLINE FOR ADMISSION

Admission shall be closed after the thirty days from the commencement or registration of the first year class.
