Vice Chancellor – Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid

The establishment of Punjab-Tianjin University of Technology (PTUT) is a landmark achievement in line with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab for the speedy progress in the province with emphasis on development of all sectors of economy and education. This university will strengthen and streamline technical education in the emerging fields of technology. Under CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) Pakistan has laid out a plan for Human Resource Development (HRD) to benefit through the development and cooperation between China and Pakistan. The graduates of PTUT are expected to play a major role in the techno-industrial and economic development of the country.
The University is established to work and develop strategic partnership with Tianjin University of Technology and Education (TUTE), Tianjin Polytechnic University (TJPU) and Tianjin Chengjian University (TCU). The cooperation framework is set to cover wide range of degree programs in engineering technology, research projects and other related disciplines including vocational and skills development training programs. PTUT will work with Department of Industries, TEVTA, industrial organizations and other stakeholders in the country to create a network for cooperation in technology programs that are required for knowledge economy.
The university will provide an opportunity to DAE and other graduates to get admission in higher degree programs offered in engineering technologies and emerging fields. The curriculum is designed for attainment of Graduate Attributes (GAs) and competency (including internship and skill-sets) of graduates that will help to define their career path for hi-tech industry and contribution in research and value-added products and processes.
I would like to thank the Minister of Education Rana Mushhood Ahmad Khan Chairman Steering Committee and Chancellor’s Committee and members for the support and guidance. I am also thankful to all my colleagues and team of experts and professors from China for their hard work, dedication and cooperation.
I am pleased to welcome the freshmen batch of 2018 and hope that they will have excellent learning opportunities and professional exposure during stay at PTUT.
